Surprise…Surprise…Surprise

There are two surprises for me today….although it may not be big deals for you out there..they are for me…

The first one….remember my post about eBay Explained 2006 where I had met LiewCF and Colbert?

I checked out my Technorati links today and found a new link to my blog from Ashruffz Reality Adventure. Well Ashruff is actually a fan of LiewCF blog and he had been listening to our (me, Liew and Colbert) conversation while we were waiting for the seminar to start. Poor Ashruff…he should have had the courage to meet his favourite blogger and say hi and join us in the conversation. There were a couple of other guys who did just that. All the best to Ashruffz and his adventure.

The second surprise… I have mentioned Wendy Piersall a few times in my posting, and that I am a regular reader of her blog called eMoms At Home. This morning I was there again and guess what? There was no Most Valuable Posts entry which she would normally post every Friday, but I found the Most Valuable Commenters instead. And my name and my blog’s had been mentioned as one of her MVCs. This is an honour really…I really appreciat her for that and to tell you the truth.. I have learnt a great deal from Wendy, not only through her blog but also from her advice which I had sought through email, although not very often. Thanks again Wendy…all the best to you, eMoms At Home.

List Your Website in Links Portfolio

I am very sure most of you have a website. One way to spread the news about your website is by listing it in as many web directories as possible so that you can reach wider audience. I have launched my web directory Links Portfolio barely over two months ago and the number of submission is quite encouraging.

Links Portfolio offers three options for listing:

1. Featured Listing (paid)
2. Regular Listing (paid)
3. Regular listing with reciprocal (free)

I am currently running a promotion for Links Portfolio.

Regular listings are currently free for first 200 submissions and as of today more than 100 slots have been taken. I am pretty sure it will run out sooner than I had thought, as Links Portfolio is now being promoted in quite a few places on the world wide web. The pace is really picking up.

I am also offering a 2-year Featured Listing for for the price of 1 year, which is really good deal.

Links Portfolio had been newly accepted as a member of ISEDN.org (Independent Search Engine and Directory Network).

Being The First Is Not Always Great.

You wouldn’t want to be the first to be charged for ’stealing’ neighbour’s WiFi bandwidth, would you? Excuse me….stealing? Yes…meaning taking something belonging to someone else without permission…that’s why you can be charged in the court of law of a country.

The unfortunate incident happened in Singapore where the neighbour had reported to the police about the teenager taking free rides surfing the internet off the neighbour’s WiFi connection.

If found guilty under the Singapore’s Computer Misuse Act, Garyl Tan Jia Luo, 17, could face a possible fine of SGD10,000 or the three years in prison.

I wonder if the charge would hold any water because if you are using a WiFi router and does not secure your connection, which is standard feature in a WiFi and easily configured, everyone within your WiFi range can detect your signal and connect to the internet for free. I wonder how the court would respond to the lawyers from both sides.

You guys want to share how you would prosecute and/or defend this case?

The Death of Internet Marketing

Do you remember the ‘The Death of Adsense and Life After Adsense’? That was really a succesfull viral marketing technique. Scott Boulch had actually wanted to promote his Click Flipping method using this viral marketing technique…so it wasn’t that bad for him. The response was overwhelming. For others, they got to know whether or not Adsense would die and a new method of earning money using Click Flipping, still for others it is just another way of earning some bucks….sounds like fun to me.

A lot of people promoted the e-Book to be downloaded free….actually they receive 50cents for each downloaded e-Book. Just that this time the price is USD1.00…. not bad for just promoting it on your web site.

So if you got nothing else to do (like when I am posting this … ), why not download the free e-Book and find out what the eBook is really all about…I haven’t read them…I will read it after this post . Who knows what Mike wants to offer you might be of some benefit and value.

After you download the eBook, then you can do the same by promoting the same eBook on your site or mailing list, and receive USD1 for each copy downloaded… you probably won’t earn that much but if you can earn just few bucks… it still fun…

Gobala and His 100PercentMalaysian.com

I don’t know exactly what Gobala is up to, but it must be going to be quite big, just by looking at his name and his new project….all 100% Malaysian. If you are looking for a Malaysia-boleh guy, Gobala certainly fits this stereotype well…in addition to other top Malaysian internet marketers such as Irfan Khairi, Saiful Hisham, Alang (he is a low profile guy but succesful..I learn a lot from him ), LiewCF, Colbert Low …just to name a few….and the list goes on and on.

Back to Gobala’s story…he is launching 100PercentMalaysian.com on 15th November 2006…that’s tomorrow guys….no wonder he is asking for help to drive traffic to his new site…this is great thing about internet. In short time you can reach millions of people, if you know what you are doing…I hope I do…

No I am not doing it because of free Astro Max Gobala is offering for top referrers (my site’s crowd is not there yet..but I hope is growing…please tell your friends about CJCM and IT…TQ) but I am doing it because of Malaysian Internet Marketers camraderie…if you know what I mean…we internet marketers are helpful lot..providing tips for free, promoting each others products so that everyone benefits….I hope I make my point clearly there.

RoboForm Makes My Day.

Ever since I am involved with internet, I have accumulated a lot of user IDs and passwords for various sites that I have joined such as forums, memberships, affiliates and so on. Initially it was OK to just write down these passwords on a piece of paper and key them in when you need it, but with tens of IDs and passwords to remember and key-in, I cant take it anymore.

I downloaded a trial version of RoboForm and installed it on my laptop and my login-life is soooooooooo much easier thanks to RoboForm. I decided to purchase the software after the trial ended. My PayPal account is now USD39.95 poorer but I am one happy blogger..no more passwords to remember.

Actually I bought RoboForm2Go version, the one that can be installed on my USB drive, so I can just plug it in into any laptop or PC. As a security, RoboForm asks you to enter a master password the first time you use the RoboForm to login, so if you lost your USB drive full of IDs and passwords, you are still safe..unless of course you use an easily guessed password or write your password in your USB drive which isn’t very smart to do…

I highly recommend RoboForm2Go for all of you especially internet marketers, since you guys normally have zillions of IDs and passwords. eBay Explained 2006

I managed to get the confirmation email for the eBay Explained 2006 seminar which was held today at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, so I was able to attend and get first hand information about ebay.

The seminar was really an eye opener…at least for me. Even though I have heard and read of many succesfull eBay sellers, the seminar actually gives me first hand information from the people behind the highly succesful online auction site itself…and I tell you it was worth the time I had spent there…3.00pm until 6.30pm… it was extended untill 7.00pm. And there were a lot of crowds too.

eBay logo I think I now have a clearer idea of what eBay really is and the potential for me…and you too of course…to make money by selling at eBay….either using their auction features or normal online selling fetures. I must say, one of my next internet projects might well be selling on eBay but this requires some planning an research so it will not take off so soon.

cjcm-colbert-lcf And guess who else from the blogosphere attended the seminar? I had expected to see Colbert but I didnt know LiewCF was coming too…so we had some moments for short photo- sesion. Ohh…by the way did you notice our heights? Actually I am not that short…just that Colbert was wearing high-heel and LiewCF’s was even higher…LOL

Andreas09 - New WordPress Theme

I decided to change the existing theme of CJCM and IT to a new one. There are only two requirements….the new theme must have 3 columns and I want to maintain the blue color design of the original theme. And I have chosen Andreas09. Don’t ask me why I choose this theme…I just want something new and I think I like this one. I can change the color easily too if I want to.

Actually there are so many good WordPress themes out there, selecting one that is suitable is
just a nightmare….so I wil settle for this one for the time being.

I do hope you like it but if you don’t, too bad.. May be next time I upgrade you will like it.

So there will be no ads for now… I will have to start from scratch incorporating all the links from my previous theme…this will take some time.
